Below are things that came to my mind when the terror strike is finally over in Mumbai. The fallen police, NSG officers and innocent public deserve the nation's salutations. But lot of things disturbed my mind in the way the operations are handled.
First it took nearly 8 hours for Maharashtra Govt to seek and deploy men trained in counter terrorism into forefront, the reasons being logistical issues and bureaucracy.
The NSG commandos and local police team are ill-equipped to handle the situation, especially the police personnel still using rifle that was used in world war 2, even the kargil post mortem report says that military and defense systems needs to be modernized. TILL now it did not happen. Will it not result in another 1962 Chinese war? that too against TERRORISTS .
It took us more than 70 hours to rescue our innocent lives and terror under control from mere 10 terrorists (Well equipped and cold blooded people).
The politicians on one side blaming each other lapses, trying to gain political mileage making themselves available for polls. Advani giving political speech on terror spot. Narendra modi announcing relief, who cares for all these. Will police protect(security cover) to advani or people held hostages and surrounding buildings. ! That is the fate of people of India.
The politicians or senior minister saying “intelligence gathering could be outsourced to private detective agencies", outlines his lack of leadership skills and knowledge about Indian history in intelligence, mind you do not forget Indo - pak 1971 war which showed RAW at its best.
These things show the clear lack of strong leadership and sense of responsibility among Indian politicians.
