My first blood donation

I have a strange feeling when It comes to blood donation, I am not sure why this exists in me.
1. Will they use proper needle.
2. Will I faint?
3. Do I have proper fitness level to donate a blood?
These where the feelings that was stopping me from donating my blood.
Suddenly on 6th August 2008, there was an blood donation camp in my company and I was impressed and wanted to donate my blood.
I normally reach the company in time, but I somehow missed my first shuttle to company, probably to catch the next shuttle, I call this early morning blues. Then started to office in a relaxed mood, to catch the next shuttle to company. Oops I missed it by a whisker, thanks to city traffic. Next best means of travel to reach the office to take the train service provided by government.
Alas I reached the office around 11:00 AM. There was lots of buzz in entrance people waiting in queues to donate their blood, again there was lots of dilemma in me
1. Should I join the queue straight away?
2. Report to my desk and ….
Work place was again as usual buzzing with lots of activity with manager waiting for me to join the status call. Was just in time! Yeah he is relieved a bit that I was in office to answer the question from onsite team .I could quickly could resolve few issues and checked the mail my mail there was remainder the blood donation camp will be closed in about 1hr.

Again in dilemma, a voice from my friend. Machi can we go and donate .... my project lead or rather close friend saying that I cant donate my blood since I didn’t have my breakfast in morning. Hm..Its a myth I guess I was thinking, then again same voice.. Yep is the reply from me, one more colleague joined me. So we three were standing in queue, cracking quick wits at each other. Then within some few minutes.. everything is done. I have given 3 units of blood. At last a happy smiling face

I was relieved and very happy that I may save some unknown.. or may human life. Thanks to science …
