I am here to talk to the great protocol that we have been following religiously over some 50 years to stop all the traffic in city, disturbing every DUST on ROAD and make way for some political ministers who are no way useful for both the country and as well their home.
Yesterday (4Th Nov 2009 8:00 AM), regularly this 8:00 is the time i reach porur junction to catch the late shuttle that takes to me office, if I miss this, i pay heavy price of travelling through MTC bus, guess everybody in India knows how much costly both in terms of time and money to travel in MTC for almost 45 kms.
I reached the Porur junction, where I board the share auto which drops at kathipara junction, which is the place where i need to board my office shuttle to MCC.
All of a sudden police man stopped all the traffic and was diverting only vehicles on one side. This looked normal for 5 mins, we in India are used to diversion in traffic all of a sudden. Later everyone’s where surprised to all the signals were off.. so the total traffic was stand still for about 20 mins, then it resumed around 8:20 traffic flow was back to normal, everyone using their own filthy language in police man. After all, he just needs to obey his superior orders.
Impact of 15-20 mins lost due to ministry protocol
There were about more than 200(which could be the minimum number) people got stuck in the traffic.
1. Time lost
2. Traffic from other parts would also join, hence more vehicles and traffic congestion increases again, which increases pollution (noise and air).
3. This time lost could lead several monetary loss, many employees around this area work in textile sector, which pays them by number of hours they work, so they would have lost their half a day’s salary.
4. Many like me would be wanting to board shuttle to reach their actual destinations would have missed it.
5. Many would missed their appointments which is more valuable..., than Indian politicians
